US Congress hosts vacancy elections

WASHINGTON DC, USA - On February 9th, the United States Congress finished its vacancy elections for both the House of Representatives and the Senate.

This election yielded a selection of particularly positively and negatively peculiar candidates. For one, the new Republican Senator Haagan is the executive of an amusement park which reenacts the September 11 bombing of the World Trade Center in 2001. Stefan Kovac was a former Supreme Court Justice who took office on January 1st this year, but resigned to pursue an alternate career in Congress. A vast majority of all candidates elected are either citizens of, or holding public office, in various other countries.

This month's vacancy election was, according to many political analysts, one of the most dismal in American history - electorate turnout was at an all time low, and minimum election numbers from the popular vote dropped from the 5-10s to 1.

Furthermore, the purpose for which these vacancy elections were held, was to fill offices vacated by previous legislators. Congressional resignation is skyrocketing like never seen before, and many government officials feel that the United States is suffering from the effects of being forced to work with inexperienced, often inactive and in some cases, naive congressmen.
